Theme Thursday

Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event hosted by Reading Between Pages that will be open from one Thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:
  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”
This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.

This week’s theme is:

HEALTH (Health / Wellbeing / Illness / Disease/ etc )

Archangel's Blade by Nalini Singh

"Staring at her best friend, Honor started to laugh and it was the first time she'd done so since Ash and Ransom carried her out of that filthy pit, bruised and violated and bleeding from so many bite marks torn into her flesh that the doctors had put her into an antiseptic bath, not wanting to miss one of the wounds."

" 'I won't ever be a prisoner again, yours or anyone else's.'  It was a vow she'd made as she lay a broken doll in a hospital bed, one she'd spill the dark red of heart's blood to keep.

Dmitri shifted gears with the ease of a man used to power. 'I don't intend to break you Honor.' The harsh edge replaced by black silk, sinful and tantalizing as the rich scent of chocolate seeped into her very bones. 'I intend to seduce you.' "

I absolutely loved this story of Dmitri and Honor.  This is such a wonderful series and I can't wait for the next installment!!! Though I'll have a while to wait, since this one just came out. Hopefully the review for this book will be up by this weekend.
