Description from Goodreads:
Katelyn McBride’s life changed in an instant when her mother died. Uprooted from her California home, Katelyn was shipped to the middle of nowhere, Arkansas, to her only living relative, her grandfather. And now she has to start over in Wolf Springs, a tiny village in the Ozark Mountains. Like any small town, Wolf Springs has secrets. But the secrets hidden here are more sinister than Katelyn could ever imagine. It’s a town with a history that reaches back centuries, spans continents, and conceals terrifying truths. And Katelyn McBride is about to change everything.

Broken families, ageless grudges, forced alliances, and love that blooms in the darkest night—welcome to Wolf Springs.

My thoughts:

I really enjoyed this first book in the Wolf Springs Chronicles series.  I literally flew through it in one evening!  I couldn't make myself stop reading, as I really wanted to find out what was going to happen with all of the characters in the end.

Katelyn was a character that I found easy to feel sympathy for.  Her mother is killed during an earthquake, and Katelyn has to leave everything and everyone she knows in bustling California to move to middle of nowhere Arkansas.  She has to try to make new friends in a town where there are NEVER any new people, all while learning to live with a grandfather she barely knows.  That would be hard for most people, especially a teenage girl starting her senior year in high school.

By the end of the novel Katelyn's life has gone through some major changes.  I don't want to give away in spoilers though, so I'm not going to say anymore about those changes.  I can't wait to read book two, though, to find out how certain events are going to come into play in later books.  If you are looking for a novel that will keep you reading until late into the night, Unleashed is the book for you!  Its fast paced, yet full of intrigue and the supernatural that will leave you wanting for more.
