Hot Cocoa or Apple Cider?
Definitely Hot Cocoa. Even better with a shot of Baileys or Kahluah and Peppermint Schnapps. *wink*
Favorite holiday movie?
Forget the movies! I like the old stop-action tv specials. Especially the one with the elf that wanted to be a dentist and something about the Island of Misfit Toys.
Best gift received for the holidays?
My first guitar was a Peavey Razor. I sold it to buy another guitar. Years later, I discovered this exact guitar in a local store for sale. The person I’d sold it to, had traded it in. I was nostalgic and misty eyed. My then husband bought it for me and put it away for a few months, and gave it to me for a present. He also gave me a sword one year. Those two are tied for first place best gift.
Favorite holiday song?
The instrumental versions of O Holy Night and What Child is This (Greensleeves) both are in keys that have a quality that defines the power of the season.
How many books do you have planned for Persephone?
I hope to do nine. I have the story arc plotted out and am very excited about where I’m taking the characters.
Who would you pick to play Persephone, Johnny, and Menessos in a movie?
I think either Chris Pine or Simon Baker could do Menessos well; someone like Kristen Kreuk has the look I think Persephone has; and Johnny…well…someone tall, dark, handsome, and who has a dirty sense of humor and can turn everything into an innuendo. I dunno who fits that bill…
What new release from another author are youanxiously anticipating?
Lucy Snyder’s SWITCHBLADE GODDESS
What album are you currently listening to on your iPod?
Beyond Hell /Above Heaven by VOLBEAT. Saw them live at the House of Blues in Cleveland and they were simply a phenomenal band. Every bit as awesome live as they are in the studio—and that’s saying something.
If you could buy yourself any present for the holidays, what would it be?
An old ’89 Chevy Silverado in great condition. I used to have one and it did doughnuts in the wintertime—had a blast in that truck. I miss it.
If you could pick anyone to meet under the mistletoe, who would you choose?
Right now I don’t know about real life fellas, I’m currently single. So if I can choose anyone, as in ANY one…even handsome Hollywood actors that I’ve never met…wow. Difficult question…I’ll say Viggo Mortensen.
How did your family spend the holidays when youwere a kid? Any special traditions?
When I was young we did what most folks did. We had a big dinner Christmas Eve, opened presents Christmas Day. The weekend prior to the big event my mom’s side of the family would all gather at my aunt’s house and spend the weekend together. It was a huge feast with decadent desserts at the end. Also a pokerfest/gift exchange. It was something we all looked forward to. Nowadays, with my family,we have a Santa Hat. On the morning of the 25th, the kids sort all the presents under the tree and we decide who wears the hat first. Whoever wears the hat opens their gifts, then passes it to another wearer of their choice. This way, whoever is opening has the spotlight and the attention of everyone else. And, I don’t miss getting the pictures of their reactions.
